MESTO & INK LAND ON EXPERTS ONLY WITH ‘FREAK’
Mesto teams up with singer and songwriter INK for “Freak”, a dark, vocal-led club cut released through John Summit’s Experts Only.
Built around a driving groove, sharp synth work and an insistent vocal hook, “Freak” keeps tension at the centre of its appeal. INK’s topline threads through the production, giving the track a seductive edge while Mesto keeps the energy firmly focused on the dancefloor.
The idea first took shape in an LA hotel room, before John Summit premiered an early version at Ultra Miami. Support from Dom Dolla, Martin Garrix, Zedd and Alok followed, giving the record a summer of exposure ahead of its official release.
For Mesto, the collaboration continues the creative shift signalled by “Caramelle”. INK, meanwhile, brings songwriting experience spanning Beyoncé’s Renaissance and Cowboy Carter, alongside Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther”. Here, that pop songwriting pedigree finds a home in a tightly wound club production.
