With his second album ‘Ask Me Tomorrow’ arriving on No Context Records and banner support on Tech House Operator, Kyle Watson takes the spotlight as our Artist of the Month.
The South African DJ and producer has carved out a distinctive space in global house music. Combining innovative sound design with thick, rolling basslines and punchy percussion, Watson’s productions balance underground grit with a willingness to experiment. It’s a sound built for the dancefloor, with enough detail to reward a closer listen through headphones.
Now based in the UK, Watson has earned support from Chris Lake, John Summit and Gorgon City. His international reach extends from appearances at Coachella, EDC, Lollapalooza Brazil and Ultra South Africa to headline shows across the USA, Australia, New Zealand and his home country.
This month marks a new chapter with the release of ‘Ask Me Tomorrow’ through his own imprint, No Context Records. His second album takes its name from a familiar habit: putting things off. For Watson, the title is a personal admission, with procrastination something he has wrestled with for years.
His response was to give himself just eighteen weeks to complete the project. That deadline became central to the process, encouraging quick decisions and leaving little room to second-guess ideas. Rather than waiting for the perfect moment, Watson committed to following his instincts.
The album brings together collaborations with Body Ocean, Walker & Royce and Will Clarke, alongside contributions from Kosmo Kint, Scrufizzer, Ed Graves, Bobbi Fallon and MAY BBY. Moving between genres while retaining his distinctive production style, the project showcases the range of Watson’s sound without losing the identity at its core.
“Writing the album came really naturally, without overthinking — there literally wasn’t any time for that,” Kyle explains. “Eighteen weeks in the making, was it worth it? I think so... ask me tomorrow.”
