ÖWNBOSS & ESSE JOIN FORCES ON HEXAGON WITH ‘BACK N FORTH’

Öwnboss and Esse team up for ‘Back N Forth’, out now on Don Diablo’s HEXAGON. Released on 9 October, the collaboration marks Öwnboss’s debut on the label, adding another major imprint to a year that has already included releases on SIZE Records, Gotta Move and Catch & Release.

Built around the interplay between kick, bass and a hypnotic vocal, ‘Back N Forth’ takes a stripped-back approach to bass house. Synths and effects build tension around the central groove, leaving space for each element to make its impact. The collaboration began in 2025 when Esse sent Öwnboss a vocal that fitted an instrumental he was developing, with the pair shaping the idea into the finished record.

Brazilian producer Öwnboss broke through globally with ‘Move Your Body’, his collaboration with Sevek, which surpassed one billion streams across platforms, according to his Beatport biography. Since then, appearances at Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas and Rock in Rio have helped establish his international presence, while recent single ‘Pop This’ earned him a Beatport Tech House No.1.

Esse brings a catalogue that includes releases on Confession and collaborations with Malaa, including ‘Ground’. Together, the pair add ‘Back N Forth’ to their growing run of club releases, with Don Diablo also featuring the track as the opener of HEXAGON Radio episode 610. ‘Back N Forth’ is available now via HEXAGON.
