CASTION BRINGS ‘INTERNATIONAL WOW’ EP TO NATURE RECORDS

Tenerife-born DJ and producer Castion is set to release his ‘International Wow’ EP on NATURE Records this 9 October, delivering two tracks that explore different sides of his club sound. Pairing a percussion-driven title track with ‘Looking Down’, a collaboration with fellow Canary Islands talent Sergiodnine, the release moves between rolling tech house and old-school house influences.

‘International Wow’ centres on tribal-influenced drums, lively bongo patterns and a rolling bassline. A restrained vocal hook cuts through the percussion, giving the track a hypnotic focus as the arrangement builds in intensity. Expansive builds lead back into a driving groove, with the interplay between the drums and low end keeping the momentum firmly on the dancefloor.

On ‘Looking Down’, Castion and Sergiodnine switch direction, combining raw breakbeats, warm organ tones and a catchy central lead. Following their previous collaboration ‘Wanna Come’, the pair draw on classic house textures while bringing a different rhythmic feel to the EP. The broken drums introduce a looser swing, with the organ melody providing a familiar hook that contrasts with the title track’s rolling pressure.

Having started producing at just 14, Castion has built a catalogue spanning labels including Toolroom, Insomniac, Sola and Glasgow Underground, with support for his productions from Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers and Cloonee. His career has also included a collaboration with Nicole Moudaber, premiered together at Hï Ibiza. With this latest release, he brings his percussion-led sound and shared musical chemistry with Sergiodnine to NATURE Records.
