ATLAC continues a busy run of releases with his debut on Ilario Alicante’s Sound D’Elite, delivering the two-track ‘Little Closer’ EP. Released on 30th October, the project follows his collaboration with Cloonee and Yandel on ‘Movimiento’, which featured on Cloonee’s debut album, ‘Are You Still You?’. Bringing the focus back to his solo productions, the Italian serves up a pair of club cuts built around rolling rhythms, sharp percussion and weighty basslines.
With releases on Desolat, Metamorfosi Records and Hottrax, ATLAC has steadily built a catalogue that reaches well beyond his roots between Venice and Milan. His relationship with Hellbent Records also took shape earlier this year through May’s ‘Hood Beat’ EP, laying the groundwork for his subsequent collaboration with the label’s founder. Alongside support from Joseph Capriati, Dennis Cruz and Wade, his arrival on Sound D’Elite adds another respected name to a growing list of labels backing his sound.
Opening track ‘Little Closer’ centres on a springy bassline, with crisp percussion and tightly clipped drums keeping the groove moving. There’s a clear emphasis on rhythmic interplay, allowing the low end and drum work to carry the track’s momentum. That stripped-back approach gives the opener its character: direct, rolling tech house with enough bite to make an impression while keeping dancers locked into its pulse.
On the flip, ‘Vibrate’ raises the intensity through taut claps and a heavier bassline, giving the EP a tougher closing statement. Where the opener draws its energy from bounce and precision, the second cut puts greater emphasis on low-end pressure. Together, the tracks offer a focused introduction to ATLAC’s sound for the Sound D’Elite audience, extending a year that has brought both high-profile collaborations and an increasingly assured solo presence.
