TONY ROMERA: DEBUTS ON SOUND D’ELITE WITH ‘CAN’T SLEEP’ EP.
Tony Romera makes his Sound D’Elite debut with ‘Can’t Sleep’, a three-track EP that finds the French DJ/producer stepping into Ilario Alicante’s imprint with serious club intent. With over 15 years in the game, Romera’s catalogue already stretches across respected labels including Solid Grooves Raw, Fool’s Gold and Toolroom, where his 2022 remix of ‘Raw’ climbed to #1 on Beatport.
The title track ‘Can’t Sleep’ sets the tone with looping vocals, sharp modern groove work and a weighty bass line built to lock the floor in. From there, Romera links with Spain’s Fer BR on ‘Now Do It’, a ghetto-leaning roller driven by crisp hats, warped vocal chops and subtle piano chords that rise and fall with precision.
Closing the EP, ‘Este Mambo’ sees Romera team up with fast-rising Italian talent Cyava for a percussive workout laced with minimal sonics and flashes of breaks. Following international sets at Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, Sunburn and more, plus his continued support of emerging artists through his own House Delivery label, ‘Can’t Sleep’ marks another strong chapter in Tony Romera’s ever-evolving club journey.
