Get To Know Kasto & Let’s Karpool: The Artists Behind PROFOUND’s Debut Release
When we launched PROFOUND, the goal was clear: put out music that means something. No noise for the sake of it. No hype for the sake of hype. Just artists who care deeply about what they’re creating - and who they’re becoming in the process. For the first release, that meant Kasto and Let’s Karpool.
Their track ‘2 Of These’ came together by chance. No pressure, no plan. Just an idea passed between friends that clicked. Since then, it’s found real momentum - over 10K YouTube views in 10 days, solid playlist placements, and nods from names like Fish56Octagon, Tough Love, Aiwaska, Flashmob, and Ruben Mandolini. But behind the numbers, this release represents something more: two artists stepping into something bigger than themselves.
KASTO
Kasto is based in San Diego. His music sits somewhere between tech house and bass house, but genres don’t really tell the full story. What stands out is the energy: low-end pressure, crisp percussion, a sense of forward motion. It’s confident without being loud.
He’s released on labels like IN/ROTATION, Space Yacht, Insomniac Records, and Box Of Cats. He’s been building a name through consistency and patience. His resume includes EDC, Sound Nightclub, Countdown, and a win in the Insomniac Discovery Project. Still, there’s no sense that he’s rushing anything.

LET’S KARPOOL
Let’s Karpool is the solo project of Josh Hight, one half of the DJ duo GROOVMNT. His roots are in melody. You can hear the influence of artists like Flume and Medasin - emotion, groove, and space. And yet, his music still hits.
There’s also a strong DIY spirit in everything he does. Years of trial and error in the studio. Learning by doing. Let’s Karpool might be new to some people, but this isn’t a new journey. He’s just starting to show it publicly.
